And It Just Keeps Coming

(scene from the upstairs studio window)

The snow keeps falling- it's been well over 24 hours! Wet,heavy, great for snowmen snow, but not so great for tree limbs and power lines! At last count I guess there are over 30,000 customers in the area without power. BUT...it really is beautiful outside.
the snowman across the street now looks like a giant marshmallow monster- and we're itching to get out and make one of our own. Guess you never grow up when there is a great snow storm to play in!!

On second thought- maybe I'll just stay in and do some studio organizing!

Be Careful What You Ask For!

I've been complaining there hasn't been any snow to speak of this winter. Well, with February almost behind us and spring lurking around a corner somewhere, we are getting hit with a big old snowfall. A foot is expected by the time we wake in the am,and now we hear that we could repeat this all again for Thursday! I'd groan, but honestly...I love it! It is a big, wet, heavy snow. The kind of snow that gives birth to great snowball fights and wonderful, jolly snowmen. OK, so driving home tonight was a nightmare, but I'm home, I'm warm and all I can say is "let it snow"!

More thoughts

Outside My Window... it is hard to imagine we are poised for a snow storm

I am thinking...it is crazy to worry that the new washer and dryer are too tall for the space in the laundry room.

I am thankful for...good friends who make you laugh

I am wearing...sweats and a turtleneck, non-skid socks.

I am creating...a soft, femanine quilt top

I am going...to plan to clean up the studio so creativity has room to grow!

I am hoping...not to get some sad news this evening.

Around the house...waiting on appliance delivery, doing chores, planning the dinner dish that is going to make me like brussel sprouts again.

One of my favorite things...quiet days to myself.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: continue to work on the new quilt, finish the February mini book, work on a journal or two,do some studio organizing.

Another February Day

How did last week get away from me?? Funny how those things can happen.
Life chugs along and suddenly time has flown by and can't be recaptured.
No sewing will be done this month- not even a start or a small finish for the Charming gals (guys and gals now!). I'm ok with that- for now. I did find an intriguing pattern I'd like to try- a twist on a disappearing nine patch. Maybe I will get things together for March.
Now on to the regular Monday Daybook post:

Outside My Window
... the clouds are getting thicker in the sky. We are told there will be snow tomorrow.

I am thinking...they keep telling us there will be snow- but it just isn't happening.

I am thankful for
...the little things that make each day special- no matter how "bad" I feel

I am wearing...my day off gear: black sweat pants, black and pink polka dot shirt (post Valentine silliness?), blue non skid socks!

I am creating
...a mini book that I have fallen in love with.

I am going...to continue building a new friendship that began at the beginning of the month.

I am reading...nothing right now. I should, but it makes me sleepy!

I am hoping...that grown up decision making doesn't tear the youngest child out of the workings of her family.

I am hearing...silence. It truly is golden.

Around the house
...there is napping, there is studying, as for me-I'm just doing my morning thing.

One of my favorite things
...baby smiles.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week
: dinner with friends, Organizing a sewing group at the shop, finishing the book project, planning some sewing. Hoping for uneventful days.

Daybook Week 3

Outside My Window... the small pond is still covered in thick ice. My Adirondack chair waits quietly until spring arrives. I can see the perennial gardens will need an overhaul. I love the smell of fresh earth in the spring.

I am thinking...life is good. I need to stop worrying about what I haven't accomplished and just continue to "do". We make life much too complicated

I am thankful for...the ability to be my own person, and use my creative talents.

I am wearing
...sweat pants, a mock turtle neck and two pairs of socks to keep the toes warm. It is the "day off" uniform.

I am creating...order from chaos.

I am going...slowly and happily thru my day.

I am reading
...nothing at the moment. I did promise a friend I would go back to Eat,Pray,Love. She said I gave up too soon.

I am hoping...to continue organizing my creative space so that I can be more productive.

I am hearing...the adorable snores of a sleeping dog. Naps are good, no?

Around the house
...the floors are swept and mopped. The dishes are washed and drying in the rack and the laundry is getting done. It is all good.

One of my favorite things
...the soothing sounds of silence. Our world holds too many audio assaults.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:

*see the baby
*work- extra hours
*make a new creative friend.
