The New Normal...

It was a short but valiant fight, and saying good bye is never easy. However, the words spoken or written in an email over and over by the many friends, family and colleagues he touched celebrated what an amazing a man my husband was. Words like "special", "wise", "humorous", "dedicated" "champion", "pioneer", "unwavering commitment" "role model", reinforced all that I knew and all I want my children and grandchild to remember about their father/Poppa. Some people work tirelessly to make a difference. That is my husband's legacy...he made a difference in the lives of great many people, and yet his humility was profound.  His past influences will, I have not doubt, continue to make a difference. He will be deeply missed. Today I start a "new normal". It will not be easy, but I have memories to share, smiles to smile and a pride that runs deep- very deep. He will never be far away, and it is a privilege to say I was his wife.

Dear Karen,
I didn't know of your loss until I read Nancy Moore's post today on the Yahoo group.

You have my sincere condolences. What a wonderful partner you had in your husband, and such a great father and grandfather to your children and grandchildren.

May you all find comfort now in happy memories shared.
hugs,
Carol
